Recurrence of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Middle Ear after Wide Excision for Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Situ

Malignancy of the middle ear is rare and its incidence 0.18 cases per million people, with most common type being squamous cell carcinoma. The radiologic, surgical findings, pathology reports has not been well characterized due to low incidence. Squamous carcinoma in situ even more so. Here, we report a case 69-year-old man who developed 19 months after wide excision for situ. patient received concurrent chemoradiation therapy revision operation evaluated as stable disease 30-months follow-up. This represents first reported occurrence A diagnosis should be considered surgery.
